Hi my name is Gina Rainwater and I am the proprietor of Rainwater Falls Apothecary. I was born in Illinois, raised and lived in California for 32 years. I became interested in Herbal healing when my baby (now 23) had a fever and being of Cherokee decent one of my Aunts told me to use a few onion slices on the bottom of each foot covered with a sock, that would draw the fever out. Who was I to question after all Native healing has been around for thousand of years. I gave it a try and in a few hours his fever was gone. I continued over the years to use alternative wellness therapies, after my children were raised I decided to put my knowledge to use. We transferred to New England in the 1996. I started this company out of necessity, the necessity for a bar of soap that didn’t dry my skin or leave a residue one that would benefit my skin. After a year or so of trial and error I came up with a formula that not only nourishes the skin but provides Aromatherapy. My family and friends loved the soap that they received as gifts. When they wanted to purchase more soaps for themselves and their friends I thought why not, so I started batching more soap with different scents and healing properties. It wasn’t long after that I formulated and made other products. The Aromatherapy line is formulated with only Pure Essential therapeutic grade oils. Essential oils are extracted from plants, mostly through steam distillation. The Essential oils are then used in various modalities to promote healing on all levels for mind, body and spirit. My Herbal line contain only Certified Organic Herbs which are more widely available thanks to the renewed interest in herbal healing and pesticide free products. There is never any Animal testing or by products used in any of my products. Any colorants are natural plant or mineral pigments. My soaps are formulated with pure vegetable oils of Olive, Palm, Coconut, enriched with vitamin E and cocoa butter these bars are rich and creamy. All batches are tested for a neutral PH level. I received my professional certification as an Herbalist, Aromatherapist and Aromatologist through the New England Institute of Reflexology and Holistic Studies. With all the knowledge I have gained throughout the years I now want to share with others the wonderful and amazing healing powers of self and plant medicine.
